As a firm, we must be mindful of the rights surrounding use of images, videos, and other audio/visual works (“Content”) in our presentations or communications outside the firm. If you have not obtained proper rights and licenses for Content you’re using, Dinsmore can be held in violation of applicable copyright laws, causing the firm to be liable for costs and attorney’s fees as a result of your unlicensed use of the Content.
In addition, the firm can face liability from unauthorized use of Content containing individuals under applicable state right of publicity and right of privacy laws if use of the individual’s name, image, likeness, and/or persona is not properly licensed.
It is your responsibility to protect the firm from the improper use of Content. The Marketing Department has access to an image repository and can assist you in the selection of artwork and other audio/visual content.
